In August 2025, the French newspaper *Le Parisien* reported that Nuno Mendes had become the player with the most titles in football history before turning 23, surpassing the likes of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Pelé.

Anyone who thought the Portuguese full-back would slow down after achieving this feat was mistaken.

In 2026, Mendes continued to lift trophies and further expand his collection.

He now has a total of 19 titles to his name.

Among them are three titles won with Sporting CP: the Primeira Liga, the Taça da Liga and the Cândido de Oliveira Super Cup, all in 2021. Also included is the UEFA Nations League title with the Portuguese national team in 2025.

The bulk of his trophy collection, however, comes from his numerous achievements with Paris Saint-Germain – including five consecutive Ligue 1 titles and the club’s first-ever Champions League title, followed by a second the following year.

Following each of his two Champions League triumphs, Mendes was also named in the competition’s Team of the Season.

The Portuguese player’s career in the competition, whilst still so young, reached a special milestone with an impressive achievement in April 2026.

In PSG’s victory over Bayern Munich in the semi-final, Mendes became the youngest Portuguese player in history to reach 50 Champions League appearances – at the age of 23 years and 313 days.

The record had previously been held by Cristiano Ronaldo, a five-time winner of the ‘Ballon d’Or’, who reached the milestone in 2009 – at the age of 24 years and 83 days.

The Ballon d’Or also reflects Mendes’ rapid rise to the top of world football. To date, the Portuguese player has received four nominations in different categories.
