Kylian Mbappé, an eight-time nominee for the ‘Ballon d'Or’, continues to etch his name into Real Madrid’s illustrious history.

The Frenchman put in a record-breaking performance and led the Whites to victory over Real Sociedad (4–1) with a masterful hat-trick.

In doing so, and at an impressive rate, he has surpassed the 100-goal-contribution mark since joining the Spanish side.

A perfect night against Real Sociedad

On a matchday marked by José Mourinho’s return to the Santiago Bernabéu dugout, Real Madrid had one clear and undisputed star on the pitch.

Mbappé displayed his full attacking repertoire against the Basque side and scored three goals that sealed the match in emphatic fashion.

Likewise, the ‘Merengue’ side shone across all areas of the pitch and featured standout performances from other nominees for the ‘Ballon d'Or’, such as Jude Bellingham (2 assists) and Vinicius Jr. (1 assist and 1 goal).

It was a perfect match for Real Madrid, who secured their second consecutive victory in LaLiga 2026–27 and made it clear that they are contenders to win everything this season.

The second-fastest in history

With this spectacular hat-trick, Mbappé reached 101 direct goal contributions in the white shirt, comprising 89 goals and 12 assists.

Thanks to these figures, he became the second-fastest player to reach 100 goal contributions for Real Madrid since the Cristiano Ronaldo era.

The Portuguese star holds the all-time record, having reached the milestone in just 70 matches.

The Frenchman, for his part, sits immediately behind him on the all-time podium, having achieved the feat in just 105 matches.

A tribute to his role model

As if that weren’t enough, Mbappé rounded off his night with a special gesture dedicated to Cristiano Ronaldo, his childhood idol.

After completing his hat-trick, the Frenchman treated the Real Madrid fans to a nostalgic moment by replicating one of ‘CR7’s’ iconic celebrations.

On this occasion, he emulated the celebration the Portuguese striker performed in 2013 after scoring, as it happened, three goals against Celta de Vigo.

Without a doubt, this individual performance by Mbappé has the whole of Real Madrid buzzing at the start of the 2026–27 season.
