Édouard Mendy was born on 1 March 1992 in Montivilliers, France. A Senegalese national, he plays as a goalkeeper for Al-Ahli. At club level, he won Ligue 2 with Reims, and the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup with Chelsea in 2021. Individually, he won The Best FIFA Men's Goalkeeper in 2021. For Senegal, he earned 60 caps, played at the 2022 and 2026 World Cup, and won the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
