Article 1. The Coach of the Season Trophy is organized every year by the monthly magazine France Football.

Article 2. The Coach of the Season Trophy rewards the best coach of the season (club or national team) of a men's team and the best coach of the season (club or national team) of a women's team, regardless of league or country.

Article 3. The reference period covers the entirety of last season, from August 3, 2025 to July 19, 2026, including international competitions (World Cup and AFCON for men; Asian Cup and the Nations League final phase for women). The Women's AFCON, which ended on August 16, will count toward the current season.

Article 4. The Coach of the Season Trophy is awarded based on several criteria to be considered as a whole, such as: the quality of the team's play, titles won, leadership, tactical skills, the ability to optimize the performance of available players, to reveal young talent, and to exceed reasonable objectives, as well as respect and fair play.

Article 5. The Coach of the Season Trophy is awarded by an international jury of specialized journalists: the men's Ballon d'Or jury for the coach of a men's team, and the women's Ballon d'Or jury for the coach of a women's team.

Article 6. Each juror names two coaches in descending order of merit from a list of five nominees, previously drawn up by the France Football editorial staff, members of the L'Équipe editorial staff, at least one juror from the previous edition, as well as by UEFA ambassadors Luis Figo and Fabio Capello for the coach of a men's team, and Nadine Kessler for the coach of a women's team.

Article 7. The two coaches named are awarded 2 and 1 points respectively. The trophy is awarded to the coach with the highest total number of points.

Article 8. In the event of a tie, coaches are separated by the number of first-place mentions. If the tie persists, it will be settled by the France Football editorial management.

Article 9. Any dispute is settled by the Editor-in-Chief of France Football as organizer.
